Dr. Michael Lin, a member of the Committee of 100, invited the Chinese American Museum in DC, represented by Jenny Liu, Vice President, and Mindy Liu, Program Coordinator, to attend the Annual Gala and Conference of the Committee of 100, April 5-7, 2019, in New York City.  With the theme of “U.S. and China: New Visions,” notable conference speakers and panelists reflected on the ever-changing relationship between the two political and economic giants. Attendees ranging from former Ambassadors to China to influential figures in the media industry identified major issues yet to be resolved, and the resulting sentiment remained confident in the shared goals of the global partnership between the two nations.

Their optimism was further demonstrated  through a series of panels discussing such issues as: the changes in the diplomatic relationship between the two nations, the biopharma industry in China, the growing financial technology in China, the similarities and differences in entertainment in the U.S. and China, and the driving forces for economic prosperity for both nations. The Chinese American Museum was excited to have this opportunity participating in such a prestigious event during our inaugural year.

Founded by world-renowned architect I.M. Pei, internationally acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and other prominent Chinese Americans, the Committee of 100 consists of invited U.S. citizens of Chinese heritage and extraordinary achievement. The vision of the organization is to elevate and ensure the full participation of Chinese Americans in all aspects of American society and to build strong relations of mutual benefit between the U.S. and China.
