The Chinese American Museum’s mission is to advance the understanding, knowledge, and appreciation of the Chinese American experience, by highlighting the history, culture, spirit, and contributions of Chinese Americans to our nation and beyond.

Our vision is to be a forward-looking, widely-recognized center for everyone. We will build a meaningful, continuous dialogue about Chinese Americans’ culture, contributions, and potential as an important part of the American fabric.

We seek to work with organizations, museums, experts, and leadership across the country to tell the Chinese American story on DC’s unique, national stage.

The more we tell our story, the more it lives within us. At the Chinese American Museum, we’re building a museum for everyone. We want everyone to understand that the Chinese American story is an American story.
