One of the most indelible influences of Taoism is on health and medicine.  Join the Chinese American Museum DC for our third and final webinar, The Well-being of Taoism, on March 31, 2023, 6pm-7pm ET (3pm-4pm PT). This free online event features three expert thought-leaders as they discuss Daoist influence on health. How is acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine rooted in Daoist philosophy?  What is the Daoist concept of health? How does Daoism bring well-being to individuals, groups, and society?  In what ways is Traditional Chinese Medicine different from Western medicine?

Abbot Yun Xiang Tseng is a Daoist Priest and Abbot of DaoUSA.  He holds two lineages of knowledge, Long Men Pai (Dragon’s Gate) and Zhang San Feng Pai. Mr. Chen came to the United States in 1990 with a mission to teach Daoist practical philosophies and to empower people in the West to heal ourselves and the environment holistically. Dr. Steve Jackowicz began his study of East Asia at Harvard University. He is a graduate of the Sujok Acupunture Institute and the Korea Modern School of Acupuncture.  He received his M.A. in Acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture. He then received his Ph.D. from Boston University of Teaching Program of the University Professors, focusing on the history and development of East Asian Medicine. Our webinar is moderated by Dr. Dawn Li, an entrepreneur, educator, and writer.  She is a practitioner of Qigong and Taijiquan and currently teaches online and at Workhouse Arts Center in Northern VA.  She is the author of Song of a Lotus Leaf, a poetry collection about her Dao journey, and the editor of Poetic Medicine in the Time of Pandemic: A Collection of Poems From Around the World.  Dawn received a certificate in Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing (1989) and also studied at Maryland University of Integrative Health (2020-2021).  Dawn holds a Ph.D. in literature and a Master's in management of information systems from George Washington University. She also studied at Wuhan University and Peking University in China.
